The Yolanda’s Tacos story began in 1971 in Chula Vista, California when our founder, Bob Walker, met Yolanda Lopez. Bob was like a son to Yolanda, so Yolanda passed the art of preparing traditional Mexican cuisine to Bob. Yolanda’s Tacos celebrates and serves the traditional salsas and tacos of Mexico. Stop in to experience and enjoy the traditional flavors of Mexican cuisine.
Co-owners John and Scott Heil are brothers who always dreamed of going into business together. The brothers grew up in rural Southern Ohio. John went to John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio where he earned both a degree in accounting and an MBA. Scott studied at Wittenberg University where he earned a degree in Business Management. John moved to Colorado in 2009 and fell in love with Denver, which was inevitable after many visits to Yolanda's Tacos. During one of his many visits to Yolanda's Tacos, John met Matt, a co-owner of Yolanda’s Tacos, at the Greenwood Village location. After several meetings, John was excited to enter into an agreement to open Yolanda’s Tacos’ first franchise on Colorado Boulevard. John asked his brother Scott to invest with him to realize their dream of running a business together. After eating at Yolanda's, Scott was excited to join John in the venture. John runs the day to day operations of the restaurant with Scott’s support.
